There was an important retrospective of Mark Rothko in the Museum of Modern Art in New York in the year 1961. Then Mark Rothko agreed to send more works in a second exhibition in USA and six cities in Europe, to Amsterdam too. (see Seldes, 2008, p.78)
This is one of the rare obtained exhibition posters of the artist, printed in the lifetime of Rothko.
