You can read in the small exhibition catalogue translated in five (!) languages (pol., eng., russ., french, germ.) about the aim of this exhibition:

"This first attempt of democratic Poland in exhibiting in Germany after the end of the war the works of Polish creative art aims at acquatinting the German population - for whom Polish art actually remains something exotic - with the principal representatives of Polish graphic art and with their works of art." (p.8)

 

About the character of the Polish graphic art:

"By its ties to indigenous subjects, landscape, architecture, and to the people itself, the Polish graphic art shows typically national features. An inexhaustible source of inspiration is the popular art..." (p.8)
