Five works by Gianni Dova were shown in this exhibition.

This international exhibition which was shown in Rome, Brussels and Paris, featured artists from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland and the USA. Artists featured in the exhibition:  Richard Diebenkorn and Theodoros Stamos (American),  Jaroslav Serpan (French),  Pierre Alechinsky (Belgian), Alan Davie (English), Franz Fedier (Swiss),  K.R.H. Sonderborg (German), Gianni Dova (Italy) among others. "Virtually all of the 170 exhibited paintings were abstract." (Saunders, 2001, p.260)  You can read in the small exhibition catalogue about the title of the exhibition: "The term 'young artist' does not call for an exact, restrictive definition. But, in fact, most of the paintings assembled for this occasion are the work of painters born after World War I".

By the way only one woman, Diana Cumming born 1929 in Great Britain, took part in this exhibition.

The exhibition was organised by the Congress for Cultural Freedom. The exhibition catalogue expressly mentions the following person as responsible for the exhibition: "Secrétaire: M. Nicolas Nabokov Secrétaire Général du Congrès pour la Liberté de la Culture".

For the circumstances of this exhibition see, Saunders, 2001, p.260.
