According to the catalogue the work "Opalescence Verticale" or "Opalescent Vertical" by Bolotowsky from 1955 was featured in the exhibition. Today this work is on view at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. Curiously, the poster shows elements of another work by Bolotowsky.
One of the early important exhibitions to bring American modern art to Europe and France. Participating artists: Joseph Albers, Ilya Bolotowsky, Stuart Davis, Willem de Kooning, Adolph Gottlieb, Edward Hopper, Theodoros Stamos, Mark Tobey among others.
Henry Billings of the International Association of Plastic Arts asks in the preface to the catalogue: "Does a typical American style exist? For us there is no answer to this question, and, by the way, it is not a question that interests us deeply."
